Floodlights & Entry System Update
It feels like we have been talking about this for sometime but the floodlights and the new entry system will be on the way soon…
The Committee have long held the aim to add floodlights to 4 of our 6 courts, allowing them to be used out of the main summer season and meaning that your membership represents even greater value for money.
Chairman Chris French has spearheaded a number of grant applications – with some great successes and a few knock backs. The money raised through this, coupled with support from the LTA, means that we can move ahead with the project.
The arrangement with the LTA stipulates a different number of lights than we initially anticipated so we will need to have our planning permission amended but we are hopeful that this will not be an issue.
Along with the lighting, we will be installing new fencing to protect the site and a gated entry system. Members will receive a card to allow them to gain access, whilst non-members who have booked the use of a court will have an access code which is valid for that one-time use.
This is a major step forward for the club and huge thanks and credit should be given to Chris for driving it forward.
We will keep you up-to-date with the progress on this project.
