Pocklington’s Mixed teams somewhat excelled this week. The A Team took their neighbours apart at market Weighton with Trevor Loten and Sue Sumner showing their experience in nilling all of Market Weighton’s couples to give their team a 9-0 win.
The B Team had a very good home win against Market Weighton B 8-1 with Toby Seth and Josephine Nuttmans taking top spot dropping only seven games.
The C team were again postponed due to weather leaving them with half their season still to play and the D team remained unbeaten with a massive win over Driffield LTC A as a result of a full team performance.
The Men's A travelled to the idyllic Hackness and came away with maximum points with Trevor Loten and Adam Smith providing a great platform for the win dropping four games in their 7-2 victory to almost assure them of the Division 2 title.
The Men's B hosted Beverley Town and thumped them 7-2 with stand in captain Jim Holding and Jim Bloom winning all three sets to keep them in full contention not only for promotion, but also for the Division 3 title.
The Men's team in the York Tyke Petroleum are also riding high and currently 2nd in their league following a comprehensive win at York by 11-1. The three couple, under the guidance of captain Matt Ralphs, scored a very good 74 games against their opponents' 34 to leave them well in the hunt for promotion.
The Pocklington Ladies once again struggled to make any impact on the Driffield League with only the Ladies C managing a win against Sledmere with Captain Louise Durkin and Di Flint taking three sets in the team’s 7-2 win.
With holidays and unavailability the Club have done very well to field teams, the Captains having worked overtime.
