Pocklington Tennis Club has thriving and well attended club sessions, where members of all ages and abilities are welcome to come along and play social tennis. Various sessions are held each week throughout the year.
In the autumn/winter, club mornings are on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am, with Club Nights on Mondays from 5.30pm. In summer, club sessions are held on Saturday, Sunday and Monday evenings from 5.30pm.
Club sessions are a great opportunity for you to introduce yourself to the game and you can be sure of a warm welcome. What’s more there is no commitment required. Come to as many or as few as you like. You don’t even have to come for a full session or arrive at the very start – just drop in when you can.
Non-members can attend Club Sessions for just £5 per session – this is limited to a maximum of 3 sessions.
It’s never too young to get into tennis and it’s great fun too!

The club also run some tournaments where you get your chance to pit your skills against fellow members.
This is a fun one-day tournament usually run at the beginning of the season. All members are welcome regardless of ability and partners are drawn on the day.

General Court Use
When not in use for league matches or organised events, the courts are available to all members free of charge and at a rate of £10 per hour for non-members. Courts can be booked through our online booking system. Need more information about our booking system? Visit our book a court page.
Refunds for cancellations of court bookings will only be given (minus any appropriate service charge) when a cancellation is made more than 24 hours before the time that the court has been booked for.
Pocklington Tennis Club is committed to making every reasonable effort to ensure the Club’s six courts are available for community use. However, individual users have the responsibility to ascertain whether it is safe to use the courts – factors for this include, but are not limited to, the prevailing weather conditions.
It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that all those involved in playing tennis are made aware of the fact that they do so in all respects at their own risk.
Before commencing play, please ensure that you are wearing appropriate, clean footwear (we recommend changing into your tennis footwear at the seating area outside of the club house) and that the court is clear of any debris such as leaves and twigs. This helps in keeping the courts in optimal condition, making the playing experience as good as possible.
