At Pocklington Tennis Club we welcome players of all ages and ability. If you are new to the sport or a seasoned player, there is a place for you at the club.
Open Club Sessions
Pocklington Tennis Club has thriving and well attended club sessions, where members of all ages and abilities are welcome to come along and play social tennis. Various sessions are held each week throughout the year.
In summer, club sessions are held on Saturday, Sunday and Monday evenings from 6pm. In the autumn/winter, club mornings are on Saturday and Sunday from 10am.
Club sessions are a great opportunity for you to introduce yourself to the game and you can be sure of a warm welcome. What’s more there is no commitment required. Come to as many or as few as you like. You don’t even have to come for a full session or arrive at the very start – just drop in when you can.
It’s never too young to get into tennis and it’s great fun too!
Pocklington Tennis Club has a thriving junior section which features club nights, a coaching programme covering beginners to performance squads, holiday camps, tournaments and team tennis. We have teams entered into local leagues as well as supporting individuals who wish to take their tennis further with competitive tennis.
Our junior section is coordinated by committee members Melinda Watson and Shelley Morgan.
Tennis coaching, organised by our professional LTA coach Sean Evans, is available for all ages and all abilities.
The club also run some tournaments where you get your chance to pit your skills against fellow members.
This is a fun one-day tournament usually run at the beginning of the season. All members are welcome regardless of ability and partners are drawn on the day.
The Club Tournament
A tournament where all members are welcome to participate in the Mixed, Ladies or Mens singles and doubles events. The Club Tournament is held in August and culminates in a finals day in September.
