Pocklington Tennis Club welcomes players of all ages and abilities – from beginners who want to learn how to play tennis to those striving for top club standard.
A full timetable of club evenings and days cater for social tennis. No prior arrangement has to be made; members come along when convenient and all levels of abilities mix together for a series of friendly matches. In summer, club sessions are held on Saturday, Sunday and Monday evenings from 6pm.
For those seeking competitive, local league tennis, the club has a number of teams throughout the Driffield Lawn Tennis League, the Ladies’ Fulford Invitation League and York Men’s Tyke Leagues. In addition, the club also runs a series of tournaments throughout the season with a large Club Tournament at the end.
The club has floodlights on four courts along with a gated entry system to allow for the provision of pay-to-play, making our facilities available to non-members.
Members can book a court through our online booking system. Courts are free to use for members and cost £10 per hour for non-members. Floodlights (courts 1-4) cost £4 per hour for members, and £5 per hour for non-members. Non-members wising to book should email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07702 831 538.
Pocklington Tennis Academy offers a full tennis coaching programme, organised by our LTA qualified coach Sean Evans, for both juniors and adults. Under 16s are catered for with a range of activities specifically for our junior members. Our extremely popular tennis camps are a great way for 4-16 year olds to enjoy the school holidays. For children aged 4-11 who are new to the sport, Tennis For Kids is the perfect introduction to tennis.
